Do you approve of a measure summarized below?

The measure at issue is an Ordinance entitled “City Services Related to Immigration Status; Inclusionary Advisory Committee”. The Ordinance provides that city services shall be accessible to all residents, regardless of immigration status or identity, including ancestry, race, ethnicity, country of origin, color, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender variance, marital status, physical or mental disability, or religion, unless providing such service is prohibited by state or federal law or court decision. Except for police officers who are required to comply with applicable Police Department policy, the Ordinance provides that city employees in performing their daily tasks shall not, unless required by law, ask for information about immigration status. Similarly, individuals seeking employment by the City will be asked to verify their identity and eligibility to work in the United States once an offer of employment is made. Although an “Inclusionary Advisory Committee” is referenced in the title of the Ordinance, the Ordinance as approved by the City Council does not establish such a committee.
